Congratulations to the Senior Ladies team who won the Division 3 League last week. The weather was poor and Moorefield had got to grips with it quicker. Moorefield piled on the pressure from the start and had built a lead of 7 points 20 minutes into the first half. The Croft girls stuck with their game plan, worked hard and supported each other and had it back to level at half time. A quick goal and a point from Moorefield at the start of the second half had them up 4 points again but the Suncroft girls again rallied around each other and with 12 minutes to go it was neck and neck. Suncroft kept pushing right to the end and when the final whistle was blown Suncroft were ahead by 5 points and the winners. A fantastic team performance where every player played to their potential. Every forward contributed to the effort to get around a very tough and determined Moorefield defense. The midfield carried forward at pace and were always back to help the defence when needed. The backs blocked, harassed and harried, kept their cool and carried the ball out of trouble. The goalkeeper stopped shots, deflections and a penalty. The substitutes added fresh legs and a new dimension when asked. A fantastic team performance.
